Dokumentuję relacje łączące ludzi i rzeczy. Kolekcjonuję historie ich wspólnych egzystencji.

Gromadzę przedmioty, obrazy przedmiotów i zogniskowane wokół nich wspomnienia.

Za pomocą promieni X zaglądam do wnętrza rzeczy. Używam ich jako „wehikułów czasu” i narzędzi do otwierania ludzkiej pamięci. Najczęściej organizuję narracje wokół przedmiotów związanych z dzieciństwem i śmiercią – opowiadam o człowieku poruszającym się pomiędzy dwoma piachami.  

Bronka Nowicka Absolwentka Wydziału Reżyserii Państwowej Wyższej Szkoły Filmowej Telewizyjnej i Teatralnej w Łodzi oraz Wydziału Malarstwa Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Krakowie. Doktorantka Wydziału Malarstwa krakowskiej ASP. Pola inspiracji, eksploracji, twórczości: Relacje  człowiek - rzecz, Obraz w ruchu, Język, Spotkanie. Na terenie sztuki szuka nowych mediów, używa tomografu komputerowego jako narzędzia filmowego i graficznego. Tworzy tomowideo, wideo, wideoinstalacje, fotografie. Brała udział w wystawach w Międzynarodowym Centrum Sztuk Graficznych w Krakowie, Susanne Burmester Galerie w Niemczech (Putbus, Rugia), Małopolskim Ogrodzie Sztuki w Krakowie, Galerii Promocyjnej krakowskiej ASP, Kolegium Sztuk Pięknych w Kazimierzu, Sosnowieckim Centrum Sztuki, Zamku Książąt Pomorskich w Szczecinie, Galerii Wydziału Sztuki Mediów w Warszawie, Kunstnernes Hus w trakcie Festival for Digital and Visual Poetry w Norwegii (Oslo). Uczestniczyła w interdyscyplinarnych projektach artystycznych, m.in.: „Corespondences & Interventions” , „Open Studio of Mechanisms for an Entente”, interdyscyplinarnych konferencjach naukowych, m.in. „Post-technological experiences. Art-Science-Culture” w HAT Center UAM. Autorka publikacji na temat nowych środków narracji na polu video art (m.in. Załącznik Kulturoznawczy, Wiadomości ASP). Reżyserka spektakli teatralnych (m.in.: „Światła miasta” - Teatr Studio w Warszawie, „Patrz słońce zachodzi” - Teatr im. Mickiewicza w Częstochowie oraz Teatr na Woli w Warszawie, „Człowiek Śmietnik” - Teatr im. Jaracza w Olsztynie, „Gdzieś daleko” - TVP Kultura). W 2015 roku w Biurze Literackim wydała książkę poetycką „Nakarmić kamień”, która zdobyła III nagrodę w konkursie Złoty Środek Poezji na najlepszy debiut poetycki oraz nagrodę Nike za najlepszą książkę roku 2016.

TWO SANDS

I document relations between people and things. I collect stories of their shared existence. I gather objects, images of objects and memories focused on them. With the use of X-rays I peek into the interior of things. I use them as ‘time machines’ and tools for opening human memory. I usually organize the narration around objects bound up with childhood and death – I talk about the human being moving between two sands.

Bronka Nowicka graduated from the Film, Theatre and TV Direction Department at the Polish State Film School in Łódź, and from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, where she now is a PhD student. Her fields of inspiration, exploration and creation include: human-thing relations, images in motion, language, encounters. She is looking for new media in the field of art; she uses a computer tomography scanner as a film and graphic tool. She creates videos, tomo-videos, video installations, photographs. She took part in exhibitions at the International Centre for Graphic Arts in Kraków, the Susanne Burmester Gallery in Germany (in Putbus, on the Rügen island), the Małopolska Garden of Art in Kraków, the Promotional Gallery at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, the Fine Arts College in Kazimierz Dolny, the Art Centre in Sosnowiec, the Ducal Castle in Szczecin, the Media Art Faculty Gallery in Warsaw, the Kunstnernes Hus during the Festival for Digital and Visual Poetry in Norway (Oslo). She took part in interdisciplinary artistic projects, inter alia Corresponcences & Interventions, Open Studio of Mechanisms for an Entente, interdisciplinary scientific conferences, eg. “Post-technological experiences. Art-Science-Culture” at the HAT Centre (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań). She is the author of publications on new means of narration in the field of video art (e.g. in Załącznik Kulturoznawczy, Wiadomości ASP). She is the director of theatrical plays (e.g. “Shining City” – Studio Theatre in Warsaw, “Look, The Sun Is Going Down” – the Adam Mickiewicz Theatre in Częstochowa and the Na Woli Theatre in Warsaw, “Theatre de compose ou I'homme belle” – the Jaracz Theatre in Olsztyn, “Far Away” – TVP Kultura). In 2015 the Biuro Literackie publishing house published her poetic book “Nakarmić kamień” (“To Feed a Stone”) that was awarded the third prize in the competition Złoty Środek Poezji (The Golden Mean of Poetry) as the best poetic debut, and the Literary Nike Award for the best book of the 2016 year.
