Musée de l'Élysee, założone w Lozannie w 1985 roku jest pierwszym w Europie muzeum poświęconym wyłącznie fotografii. Co cztery lata muzeum organizuje konkurs, którego celem jest wyłonienie najzdolniejszych, młodych Photografers of Tomorrow (Fotografów Jutra). Jednym z pierwszych zwycięzców reGeneration był m.in. Pieter Hugo.
Wystawa finalistów wyrusza w 4-letnie tournée po najznakomitszych galeriach na świecie (m.in. w Nowym Jorku, Arles, Cape Town, Moskwie, Pekinie czy Mediolanie).
reGeneration2 odwiedziło ponad 250.000 widzów.

Studenci Szkoły Filmowej w Łodzi już po raz drugi znaleźli się w gronie laureatów konkursu reGeneration. W 2010 r zwycięstwo w konkursie stało się początkiem międzynarodowej kariery Anny Orłowskiej, wówczas studentki 3 roku Fotografii. W tegorocznej edycji reGeneration3: New Perspectives on Photography finalistami zostali: studenci czwartego roku Fotografii - Artur Gutowski i Robert Mainka oraz doktorant Szkoły i zeszłoroczny  absolwent Fotografii - Piotr Zbierski.

Potrójna reprezentacja Katedry Fotografii w tym konkursie jest sytuacją bezprecedensową, świadczącą
o wyjątkowości ludzi związanych ze Szkołą na Targowej.

Z wielką radością zapraszamy Państwa na trzy wystawy, na których artyści pokażą projekty nagrodzone na reGeneration3 oraz najnowsze,
nieprezentowane do tej pory prace.

Mamy niezwykłą okazję oglądać prace artystów, których twórczość wytycza Nowe Perspektywy Fotografii.

reGeneration3 jest trzecią edycją projektu zainaugurowanego dziesięć lat temu przez Musée de l’Elysée w Lozannie. Inicjatorami pomysłu byli: William Ewing, ówczesny dyrektor muzeum i kuratorka Nathalie Herschdorfer. Pierwsza odsłona reGeneration miała miejsce latem 2005 r. - swoje prace przedstawiło wówczas pięćdziesięciu twórców reprezentujących dwadzieścia dziewięć szkół artystycznych z dwudziestu krajów.

Celem tegorocznej edycji jest podsumowanie kondycji i wskazanie perspektyw rozwoju fotografii, która od czasu swoich narodzin, nieustannie i dynamicznie się rozwija. Otwarcie na inne dyscypliny sztuki (m.in. video, internet, instalacje) oraz różnorodne metody tworzenia to pierwsze spostrzeżenia kuratorskiego zespołu analizującego nadesłane projekty.

Artur Gutowski, Robert Mainka i Piotr Zbierski zostali jednogłośnie wybrani na finalistów konkursu. Artur Gutowski, w swoim cyklu ”Topeng Monyet", odnawia tradycję fotografii dokumentalnej.
Robert Mainka w "Hojnych łąkach" łączy martwą naturę i reportaż, flirtuje z fotografią komercyjną, abstrakcyjne metafory i myśli przemienia w obraz, pyta o istotę fotografii, kwestionuje ją poprzez różnorodne jej użycia. Fascynacja codziennością i intymnością wyczuwalna jest w serii "Love Has To Be Reinvented" Piotra Zbierskiego. Dla tego artysty fotografia jest sposobem bycia w świecie jednocześnie poetyckim i brutalnym. Mieszając kolor z czernią i bielą nieustannie poszukuje możliwości, jakie daje fotografia.

Musée de l'Élysee, which was opened in Lausanne in 1985, is the first museum in Europe exhibiting photographs only. The museum holds contests every four years to select most talented young Photographers of Tomorrow. One of the first reGeneration winners was Pieter Hugo among other.
The exhibition of finalists goes on a 4-year tour to most notable galleries worldwide (in New York, Arles, Cape Town, Moscow, Beijing or Milan, and not only).
reGeneration2 was visited by over 250 000 people.

Students of Film School in Łódź have become reGeneration laureates for the second time. In 2010, Anna Orłowska's winning award in the contest became the launch of her international career. She was then a 3rd year student of Photography.
In this year's reGenaration3 edition, New Perspectives on Photography, students of the fourth year of Photography Department, i.e. Artur Gutowski and Robert Mainka, also a doctoral student of the School and the Photography Department last year's graduate Piotr Zbierski, were its finalists.

Such a triple representation of the Photography Department in this contest has been unprecented, and speaks for remarkable abilities of people related to Film School in Targowa Street.

It is our great pleasure to invite you to three exhibitions at which artists will show series winning reGeneration3 awards, and their latest works, which have not been shown yet.
We will have a wonderful opportunity to see works of the artists whose creativity puts New Perspectives on Photography.

reGeneration3 is the third edition of the project, which Musée de l’Elysée in Lausanne launched ten years ago .
William Ewing, who was then the museum director, and Nathalie Herschdorfer, a curator, developed the idea. The first reGeneration opening was in summer of 2005, when fifty artists representing twenty nine art schools from twenty countries exhibited their works.

In this year's edition, the objective is to summarize the condition of photography and indicate development perspectives on photography, which since it was born, has been developing continuously and dynamically. Its opening to other disciplines of art (such as video, Internet, installations) and various methods of creation are first observations of the team of curators analyzing the projects sent.Artur Gutowski, Robert Mainka and Piotr Zbierski were unanimously chosen as finalists of the contest. Artur Gutowski, in his series”Topeng Monyet", revives the tradition of documentary photography. Robert Mainka in his "Abundant Meadows" combines still-life painting with reportage, flirts with commercial photography, converts abstract metaphors and thoughts into an image, asks about the essence of photography, and challenges it by using its various forms. One can sense a fascination with everyday life and privacy in the series "Love Has To Be Reinvented" by Piotr Zbierski. For this artist photography is a way of existence in the world, which is both poetic and rough. He is continuously in search of opportunities when mixing colours with black and white.
